PYP Y3 How We Express Ourselves

As the Y3s continue learning how images communicate ideas and information, I explored the multiple meanings and complexity of surrealist art.

For this reason I chose, paintings from Octavio Ocampo, a Mexican artist who embeds multiple images into a painting.

Students looked at the image for less than 3 seconds and then wrote their answers on post-its for 20 seconds.  Afterwards, students were shown the image for 30 seconds and wrote what else they say, the other images embedded within the larger one.   We did this with 8 different works by Ocampo.
